Counterfeit Kit Challenge #2: A Walk In The Woods

Challenge #2 - A Walk in the Woods

Source

In the fall, we often take long walks in the woods to enjoy the crisp air and turning of the leaves. For this challenge, let the forest be your inspiration. Create a project inspired by the woods. For ideas, check out this Pinterest board.

My schedule is pretty hectic at work, and I haven't had a lot of crafty time recently, but I did make something for this challenge, using my November Counterfeit Kit. I even used up a few scraps!

I started by punching a few circles out of scraps of white cardstock:

I embossed the circles with a Shimelle woodgrain embossing folder:

Diecut some doilies with a Papertrey Ink Doily die, using scraps in some fall colors:

And then layered them up with bits from my November kit, featuring the watercolor leaves:

And now I have some sweet little layered embellishments, all ready to dress up a scrapbook page:

November 2016 Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit

Hi, all! I am back to scrapping and all things fun and crafty. I had to take a little blog break, but I should be able to start getting back to more regular posting, as things are calming down a bit at work, and our vacation is past.
This month, we were given the October City Park kit from Cocoa Daisy to be inspired by:
I dug into my stash to come up with a similar style of kit to scrap with for November. This is the kit that I came up with:

And here is a video walk through of my kit for you:
Now that you've seen my kit, be sure to hop around to all of the other designers' blogs and see the kits that they have created to scrap with this month.

I can't wait to get back to sharing what I'm creating with you all, and my Disney adventures soon, as well!

September 2016 Counterfeit Kit Challenge Kit

Good morning! When I knew it would be my turn to choose this month's kit-to-copy, I immediately knew that I would choose the Felicity Jane kits, because I always love their selections! The only hard part was choosing which kit to counterfeit. The one that I finally decided to go with was the most recent, August "Maggie" kit. I love the stylishness of their kits, so I couldn't wait to pull a sweet girly kit together from my stash. And let me tell you, I have SO MUCH stuff that would go well with this kit, but I tried to reign it in a little bit.
And here's my "Girly Glam" kit:

A closer look at the papers:

and embellishments:

Some wood veneer bits and pieces:

Wonderful washi:

Unfortunately, I don't have a video for you
yet this month since I smashed my thumb at work last week and the nail is rather gross looking. It doesn't hurt anymore, but I was watching the video back and definitely need to redo it after I paint my nails...so I will post the kit without it and add the video tomorrow after I get it finished.

Until then, here's the designer's hop to keep you busy:

Make sure you stop by and see all of their lovely kits!

August 2016 Counterfeit Kit Challenge Member's Blog Hop

"Welcome to my part of the CKCB Members' Blog Hop.
You should have come here from Tara's blog.
Here's a look back at my August Kit:

And a couple of pages that I have made with the kit so far;

First, a new page in response to challenge #1, "Happy Sandcastle Day", as the cork paper reminds me of sand, and what could be more indicative of childhood than back to school memories, with last year's back to school photo of my kiddos:

And some detail shots:

And, of course the page that I made for Challenge#3, "Sounds foreign to me":

I am loving the pages that are resulting from this kit, and can't wait until I get a bit more time to play with it this weekend.

Thanks for stopping by, and now you should hop over to Tina's blog ...

Here's the list of blogs that are participating in Today's blog hop:

Magic Monday...#ShowYourDisneySide memorabilia

Good evening! Today's layout features some memorabilia that I brought home from our last Disney trip, a brochure from the #Rock Your Disney Side 24-hour event that welcomed us on our first day. I had a fun photo that someone took of us in front of the Magic Kingdom train station, with the Rock Your Disney side banner in the background, and I thought that it would be the perfect compliment to the brochure.
I used supplies from my July CKC kit:

And here's a look at the brochure (I love just stapling them at the top so that I can fold them out and look at them if I choose to.):

That's all for tonight, I'll be back in couple of days (the 24th) to show what I have been making with my August CKC kit. See ya real soon!

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #3 for August 2016

This is the challenge that we were given:

Challenge #3 for August 2016 - Sounds Foreign to Me!

foreign

adjective

 UK /ˈfɒr.ən/  US /ˈfɔːr.ən/

belonging or connected to a country that is not your own:

Spain was the first foreign country she had visited.

foreign languages
In honour of our German inspiration kit, and the fact that you might have had a go at understanding the kit content list, I'd like you to be inspired by foreign words on your project.

Since I haven't ventured out of the United States as an adult (I need to remedy that!), my first thought was Epcot's World Showcase. I decided to scrap these  photos from the Norway pavilion's quick service bakery, mainly because the name of the bakery sounds so foreign.

All of the supplies for this page came from my August Counterfeit kit, and I have to say I quite love this kit, and the way my pages are coming together with it. I've made a couple more inspired by Shimelle's Project 20 class, which I will share on the 24th for our member's blog hop. Don't forget, we want to see your kits and what you are making with them, so be sure to email us at  thecounterfeitkitchallengeblog@gmail.com  and let us know that you would like to participate!

Magic Monday: Learning to Draw at Animation Academy

Good morning everyone, and Happy Monday! For today's edition of Magic Monday, we are heading over to Hollywood Studios. I scrapped these photos from Animation Academy (which is no longer there), of my twins learning to draw from Disney Animators. My husband took the twins to Animation Academy while I stood in line with my son and oldest daughter to meet Mickey and the Incredibles. The girls said they had so much fun, and they were rather disappointed to learn that it won't be there when we go for our next trip.

Enamel dots made the perfect little paint droplets for my paint palette:

I sketched a mickey head with a chalk marker to embellish the title :

The supplies that I used for this page came from my June Counterfeit kit:

Thanks for stopping by for another Magic Monday! I'll have some more crafty fun up on the blog tomorrow with a challenge and an example layout for the Counterfeit Kit challenge tomorrow. Have a magical day...See ya real soon!

A Late Magic Monday: "Fun With Goofy"

Good evening! I almost let this Monday slip away, running errands and such, and then I realized I hadn't shared a Disney craft yet. Here is a page made with the seemingly never ending kit from April, "A Secret Garden " (what was I thinking making up 4 kits anyway?Jeez). I am about to call it on that kit and put the remaining supplies away to be doled into future kits and pages, but I'm still trying to use as much as I can. Anyway, back to my page. I took inspiration from this fun challenge from Disneyscrappers;

EPCOT Challenge

Whether you love the rides, the food, the shopping, Future World, or the World Showcase,
there is alot to see and scrap at Epcot.
This challenge is to create a layout using photos of EPCOT
For this layout you must include one or more of the following elements:

*"Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow"
*Multiple Triangles to echo the designs all over Future world
*Circles (spaceship Earth) in the form of stitched circles, punched patterned paper, confetti, enamel dots, or buttons
*Figment
*metal or metallic products
I used the wonky circles from October Afternoon, gold metallic foam Thickers word and swirl. The kit really did suit the page quite well, with the green and white flowers echoing the florals and topiaries left over from the Flower and Garden festival, the circles on the background giving a nod to both Epcot and the soccer Goofy. Now, I'm off to bed to watch the rest of tonight's broadcast of Olympic events. Have a great night!

August 2016 Counterfeit Kit Challenge Kit, "Afternoon Daydreams"

Good morning! It's August already! Can you believe it? My summer has just flown by-my kids start back to school on Wednesday. My weekend has been a flurry of back to school shopping (my, how times have changed-most of my shopping this year was online!). I did have to check the stores for a few things here and there, though, but I had more luck finding what I wanted for reasonable prices online. Anyway, back to my August kit! The kit that the lovely Lisa chose for us to counterfeit this month is this awesome kit from Papier Werkstat:

I loved the soft krafts, creams, pinks, and the soft way they added black into their kit. It's there, but it's not harsh, or in your face, as blacks can sometimes be. I definitely wanted the same soft, feminine neutral feeling to my kit, so I kept a few things in mind as I searched my stash for products to put in my kit. On my list: kraft, cream, pink, and a touch of black for the colors. For the patterns;whimsical, floral, and a few basics that could work for backgrounds like stripes or polka dots. For my embellishments, I knew I wanted kraft Thickers, and a smaller secondary set of letter stickers, and I searched my stash to find an album similar to the felt album, and some diecuts similar to the ones in the inspiration kit. Beyond that, I knew that I wanted some pieces to add dimension, so I added in some chipboard, layered stickers, acetate overlays, and flair badges. I added in some scraps from my stash to try to get them used up, and a sticker pack from the Notes&Things line that featured rather heavily in my kit. I rather love the soft, feminine kit that resulted from this stash dive! In fact, I think that I will call this kit "Afternoon Daydreams", because of the underlying office theme, mixed with the soft whimsy of butterflies, flowers, and horses-it really does remind me of things that you might daydream about in an afternoon at the office.

My Kit, "Afternoon Daydreams":

Here's a closer look at just the album and papers:

I made a video so that you could have a closer look at my kit, and I show the B-sides of the papers that have them, and tell a bit about why I made the choices that I did, I would love for you to have a look:

And be sure to hop around to see what these other talented ladies have up their sleeves this month! I know I am excited to see! Here's the list:

Magic Monday...Star Wars Style

Welcome to another edition of Magic Monday! This week I am focusing on all things Star Wars. When we went to Disney World in 2014, we just happened to go on one of their Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios. Now that they have announced that they are making a "Star Wars Land" at Hollywood Studios, and the park has a lot more Star Wars activity year round, these Star Wars weekends have become a thing of the past. The way the parks evolve and change are actually one of my favorite things about Disney, so I am trying to document the way it was when were there before, to fully appreciate the differences and changes when we go back.

I made this page with my brochure from the park that weekend, just stapled to the top of my page, so that you can still open it out and read it, and some fun photos that Eric and a few of the girls took-"Magic Shots" that made it look like they were battling Darth Vader.

what it looked like with the brochure folded out:
 details, details:

And, yes...I am still working on that ginormous April kit! Lol! Hopefully, I will have pretty much killed it soon, and I can do a kill a kit post or video!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today, I hope you have a Magical day! See ya real soon!

Magic Monday...Disney Food Edition

Our favorite quick service restaurant at Disney World on our last trip was Flame Tree BBQ at Animal Kingdom, hands down. My mouth waters just thinking about the smoky smell drifting through the park! So, when I saw this challenge over at Disneyscrappers, I knew what I needed to scrap about:

Challenge #7 from the International Scrapbook Day crop, "Food, Glorious Food"We all know there is amazing dining opportunities in the Disney Parks! So this challenge is about getting you to scrap your food and restaurant photos.

Here is my Flame Tree bbq layout:

Once again, I used my April CKC kit (It was a big kit, I will be using it for a little while still!). I was happy to finally get that bird embellie on a page-I have had it since I received it in a 2Peas swap a few years ago, and loved it, put it in numerous kits, but never found quite the right page for it until now. I am happy to finally have it in my album!

A closer look:

Thanks for visiting my blog today, be sure to come back next Monday for a new edition of Magic Monday...I believe we will visit Hollywood Studios for a Star Wars Weekend layout! See ya real soon!

Magic Monday... Celebrate the Magic

For today's edition of Magic Monday, I took the challenge from Disneyscrappers
Night Magic Challenge
Nothing is as beautiful at night as a Disney Park, it just twinkles and sparkles all around you.
The lighting around the parks, the parades, and the spectacular shows. I know you have many many night time photos that you want to scrap, but it can be intimidating.
For this challenge create a layout using photos taken at night in a Disney Park or Resort.
You must add something that sparkles
And also use these 3 night time Disney colors:
PinkYellow/Gold, and Blue/Teal
This challenge was the perfect inspiration to scrap this photo from the "Celebrate The Magic" castle show the last time we were at the Magic Kingdom. I used supplies from my April CKC kit, "Secret Garden." I made the journaling card in my Project Life app, and printed it at home. The glittery blue snowflakes were the only thing that were not in the kit, but I felt that this would be the perfect opportunity to use up the package and give a little nod to Frozen.
